I bet you the people who do do those times do the following.
Launch at 3-4k RPM since they don't want to "abuse" their car, they end up slipping the crap out of their clutch, bogging the engine and pulling a crappy time
OR
Launch at 7-8k and spin the tires waaaaaay too much since they have never done it before.
OR
Launch at 7-8k RPM and get off the clutch slowly and really cook some clutch "souffley"
I have done a regular street start with the s2k and still managed a 14.6.
I have said this before an will say it again, please, to all those who are doing half-ass launches. NO more of those please. Either go all the way, practice first. Or just do a "idle-regular" take-off that should do better then 99% of half-a$s starts since when you bog your engine, slip the clutch or slip the tires too much, you are loosing TIME.

My time up to date is, 14.01@99.96mph, 60'at 2.089secs. The car was running with a full tank of gas(3 bars away from full), including the spare, and the temp is around 76-78F. So 15 sec CONSECUTIVELY is unaccepable.

Best run with Gtech was 13.8 @ 103.2
I had plenty of traction. Top and windows were done.
Best run at track was a pathetic 14.269 @ 98.82.
Temp: 69
Rel. Hum: 74
Baro: 29.8
r/t: 1.364 (I tried to let my friend get a head start)
60': 2.223
330: 6.098
1/8: 9.281
MPH: 77.92
1000: 11.987
I had major wheelspin at the track. It was either a bog or spin. I chose spin!! I went around the burnout box and just went. My tires were also at the wear bars.

1/4 time is so sensitive to reaction time, initial launch traction. I pay more attention to 1/4 speed trap which is less sensitive to driver and surface variation.
I personally have launched a 94' supercharged Mustang and get 12.9s @ 102mph and then launched a 94' Supra Turbo and get a 13.9s @ 106mph.
C&D results of S2K varies from 14-15s but the 1/4 speed trap only varies betweem 96-98MPH.
