Default Is it possible to turn the radio on and off via the steering wheel controls?

I don't think it is, but wanted to make sure this wasn't a "secret" feature. If it isn't possible, seems like they should have made it so, then you really wouldn't have to pop the radio door open except to change CDs. I am one of those freaks who insists on turning the radio off before shutting the car off, but if I have to open the door to do so, maybe I'll just start leaving the radio on.

Anyway, if someone can confirm this for me, one wat or the other, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
Andy

Lucid's controls let me turn off the radio/cd when I hit mute. Comes in handy when I want to mute the system, but not miss where the music is playing on a cd.

The only steering wheel controls are the cruise buttons. You could rewires them to turn the radio on and off if you want.

The 2001 harness for rear speakers I bought from Lucid turns off my radio or cd when I hit the mute button. Do a search.

Not sure what the difference between powered off versus a blank screen is...except that yes, power is still there or the wired remote wouldn't work...

Is it really that much of a nuisance to open and shut the radio door?
