TWS has a cancellation for a Drivers Education (DE) at Texas World Speedway (TWS) on the weekend of October 5th and 6th. The Track owner, Dick Conole, has asked me to see if I could organize something to replace the cancellation. Because there is a TAMU football game that weekend all the hotels in College Station and vicinity are completely booked. I am suggesting a DE event therefore only for Saturday 5th. It will be run similarly to TWSMS, PCA or Driver's edge events. Instructors will be available and safety will be paramount with plenty of track time on 2.9 mile road course. For S2000 owners (or otherwise) please indicate if you have an interest in attending this event. Cost will be $100 for the day (based upon getting at least 60 entrants). Is it for the 5th or 6th? The title of the thread says 6th and the body of your message says the 5th. I might be interested but I'm not sure if I'll be able to go that particular weekend.

Sounds good, will have to see if I can get tires in time. Was not counting on something coming up so fast.

 

Hmmm... Interesting. Questions:

1) Is there going to be the required DE safety inspection form with certified tech signature? Not much time to get this done.

2) What time would the event begin? This could be hairy since there are no hotels available in College Station, and I don't like waking up at ~5am to drive to College Station, then drive all day, then drive home.

3) How many instructors will be on-hand, and what run groups will be available?
