Ferrari or Lambo owners do mod their cars...maybe not at the same frequency as s2000 owners (but then again, I think there are many more people that don't mod and just don't post). There are several aftermarket chips as well as wings, etc for both Ferrari and Lambos. Just do a Google search and you'll see pleanty.

It's all preference. Driver A may be content with the car in it's stock form, but Driver B may want to go faster, handle better, stop in less distance, look different, etc....

There's no right or wrong... mine had a supercharger on it @ 200 miles; others wait for the warranty to expire. I've dropped $40k into mods; others would be lucky to hit $150 to have the windows tinted. In the end, regardless of what's done (or isn't), it's a great car, a fantastic platform and something we all appreciate (albeit in our own ways).

The best "mod" that I've come to appreciate is the driver mod. The car can be improved, but so can the driver.

A surprising amount of people really believe they are good drivers but in reality, they're not as good as they think they are (to include myself). Driving well on the street in a casual, normal manner isn't enough to call yourself/someone a good driver, IMHO. It's like saying you're a fit person and in good shape because you live and breathe everyday without problems.

Everytime you sit behind the wheel, you have the opportunity to learn and test new things, be it big or small about your car or yourself. I've met some really good drivers of stock S2000's and other cars that drive very well (on a track) and do very well against if not best some of their modded counterparts.

Many youngsters believe that it's the mod that enhances the car, but I believe that it's the driver that enhances everything, and the best benefit is that you can take this "mod" from car to car.

I use this thought on the autocross track to help me with a few things. If there's anyone out there that can best my times by a second or more in my own car, I'm not ready for a car mod that could save me that same second or more off my times.
