Default Is it possible to remove the elbow rest?

Is it possible to remove the center elbow rest without removing the whole center console? I have an appointment to install a compustar alarm next week and would like the proximity sensor put under there. Would also make it easy to adjust the sensitivty.

I tried to pry it open with a screwdriver and it looks like some clips give, but it is still attached to something at the front.

on AP1 the elbow pad has four plastic rivets holding it on towards the front of the console. If the '08s are the same then you will need to remove the console.

just remove the consol, it's not tough... you might need to take out the radio door as well.

If you have the centre consol off, you can run wires under it and make the sensor stealth. When I installed my deck, i took it off because I had to. I found that starting on the passenger side back corner was the easiest place to work from for that elbow rest. Quick movements allow the clips to pop off easier.

Just pop the whole center console off - the elbow rest is I think glued to the rest of the console, so it will be easier to just remove the whole part. Unscrew the shift knob, then pop off the console - piece of cake.
