Default Ported and polished head installed

Well, I finally found a shop that I felt comfortable with (Tony Fuchs Racing) and had the Alaniz head installed.
I also had my polished (on the outside) intake installed.

Tony did a very clean install.

Shawn Church will be dynoing it while it is still naturally aspirated and then we will know how much added power can be gained with custom head work from Alaniz Technologies for all you NA folks. The car has factory intake with an IDI snorkle. It also has the factory headers/exhaust that may restrict the head from reaching it's true potential.

The head flow increased 16.8% on the exhaust side and 5.6% on the intake side. It was built with stainless steel valves to withstand a supercharger's increased temperatures. The increased exhaust flow will certainly compliment a supercharger so I expect the final combination with a Vortech to be very satisfactory. The head was absolutely beautiful to behold. Joe Alaniz is a true artist.

My butt dyno says WOW. It seems to pull stronger in the higher gears above 6000rpm.
The dyno results will be available in a couple of weeks after I go fishing.

I still think you're crazy putting in all those hours polishing the intake manifold!

Yep, this is the result of, oh, about 2 years of waiting. We first started doing the R&D with Alaniz about 2 years ago. We finished up in 4-5 months or so, and then we waited. A couple guys got heads, but no one did direct before and after comparisons. Finally, we're going to get data and see how much it produces.

After seeing the flow results, I'd be happy with 8-10 hp. Hopefully it'll produce _some_ gains. We'll know soon. Fingers crossed.

I'm curious. I'd love to get some more HP but would prefer to stay NA.

Thats a pretty piece Sideways...very interested in seein your results....looking at it...I'd be tempted to put Ricks Polished Valve cover with that intake.....

out of curiousity...where did you the head and/or work done on it...and I'd be interested in your $$ into the head and the polished intake..

thanks

fltsfshr

...drool...That is a most beautiful piece of work. If you don't mind me asking what might be a relatively newbish question, what was the cost of this modification?
