IMO there is a very big differece between "running" from the cops and "eluding" the cops.
I might try to "elude" them but I'd never "run" them, and it would have to be in an area I knew well.

well in that case i would never run in the s i would only elude them but i use to own a 10 sec 69 camaro and after doing some tranny work i decided to take it out for a test drive mind you the car had no insurance no inspection no nothing basically and a cop did try and pull me over and i did leave her about 15 cars behind and made it to my house pulled in the garage and slammed it shut

Here is a cautionary tale.

Summary: A guy in a Honda 1000 bike was racing. Cop in plane timed him at 205mph and radioed ahead. Ticket was for reckless, no license and 140 over 55mph. 205 is a football field/sec. Better hope a truck doesn't pull on to the road.

I have outrun a police car the night me and bro were filming our ride. He was on the left side stopped and we passed him quite fast. Once I saw him I had no choise but to keep going faster.
Firefly has this video and am still waiting for my copy!

From the article: "Kathy Swanson of the state Office of Traffic Safety said unless Tilley was wearing the kind of protective gear professional motorcycle racers wear, he was courting death at 200 mph."
Er...he could've been wearing a kevlar and rubber suit, he still would've disitegrated had he crashed...

I searched a little further and you are right about 205 being disputed and probably wrong. Some bike people think he might have been capable of 160, although the cop stands by his timing.
The guy on the bike wasn't actually trying to avoid arrest and I read he pleaded out to $1000 fine and community service. Had he been running I imagine he'd have gotten jail and some quality Bubba time.
The point still is if you going to try and "run" you better look up as well as back.

It would depend on a couple of thigns. #1 How far behind me is he... #2 how many side roads and interconnecting roads from the road im on. #3 how concealed the road im on. #4 how well i know the area. Im gonna plead the 5th on if ive done it before. But if #1 = too close or even remotely close, then no way in hell. #2, if #1 is a go and the cop is a good ways off then i wont be on the road im presently on for long. #3 if im on a road that has alot of visual obstructions and curves and he is far behind me then sure, maybe id try... but if its not obstructed well then id say hell no. #4 if i dont know where the hell im at then id never try to make a move. The thing is with #1 if you are far enough away from him then you could just act stupid should you decide to stop but you can only act stupid if there arent helicopters and road blocks with multiple cops coming at you. Id have to be going pretty F*#king fast to even not to want to stop for a cop tho, never been in jail (except for DWI when i was a young'n, dont remember it anyways) dont want to know what its like either.
