That's my diet goal. 44 lb. When I get there, I'll be at break-even with the hardtop.

I had to post, not because I have strong feelings on the subject, but because you have a cool sceen name

Actually I don't think I would have bought this car if it were a coupe. I want to sit in the sun and feel the wind in my hair. I LOVE the open feeling I get in this car. It's almost like a motorcycle.

Currently your only recourse would be a hard top. O don't understand however, how a HT would require more storage if you plan to keep it on all the time.

Usually it's the 'vertable version of any car that weighs more. Now the tables are turned, and I like it.

I also agree with ruexp67, I've owned virtually every Honda Prelude from 86-2000, 93 being the best year IMO. The one thing the prelude lacked was a soft-top appeal. Just imagine if Honda had made the prelude a convertible would you prefer the coupe version or soft-top version. It's something about a convertible that sets you apart from fellow sports car drivers. Yesterday, while driving I saw a Vett Z06 and a convertible Viper and I must say the convertible look won.
The hard top IMO is a coupe.

Personally I bought the s2000 because it was a roadster. Although the S line does have coupe heritage with the s800 coupe. I'm not against it, but I prefer the roadster.

I agree with Purple Haze 100%. A coupe would be very tempting. I hope my baby is asleep in the garage and didn't hear me say that.

I would much rather have a coupe version of the S2000 with a fixed roof. Dropping the top is a really nice feature but it doesn't overwhelm me that much. I like to exceed the speed limit on a constant basis and I don't enjoy the wind factor at high speeds.

There is something very special about driving a roadster. Nothing, not a sunroof, not a targa top, nothing even comes close. For me, that is part of how you define a sportscar.

I may just be me but S2000 and coupe just don't go together well.

I wouldn't have bought one if there was a coupe version. It was made as a roadster, it should stay one. Just my opinion.
