PLEASE HELP: Dealer wants to charge me almost $1000 for fixing this buzzing sound
in my shifter console when I'm slowing down. Initially they assured me it will be under warranty but I get a call from Jeanette at Honda of Stevens Creek (bay area) and now they want me to pay for a new clutch, disk, bearing, etc.
The owner I bought the car from told me there was a TSB bulletin on this noise and should be fixed at no charge.
Can someone point me to the Honda TSB or have any related info I can give to the dealer?
thanks,
rick

If the car is still in warranty they have to fix it. If it is out of warranty they may fix it as a courtesy but are not required to do that. I almost purchased a 2000 with a lot of clutch buzz and I verified my dealer would do the TSB first. He was willing to do it because I have purchased several cars from him and sent him several customers.

I'm in the process of getting that serviced right now.
I have a 2001 s2k with approximately 32000km
my pressure plate and clutch needed to be replaced.
Car drove fine but everytime i deaccelerated that buzzing noise came up

Try telling that to all the owners who have been denied this fix, including me.
Seems they don't HAVE to do anything.

Hockey - you must be using the same dealership as me
They don't have to do anything (at least that's what i'm told) A tsb is not a recall - it's up to the dealer to make the call
find a good dealership and they might replace the disk BUT not the pressure plate and flywheel - BTW a grand is cheap for a clucth job - my dealer raped me for $1,500.00
