Is the plastic rear window a pain?

Ok, so here is some insight.
The day I drove my S2000 brand new off the showroom floor I put the top up due to cloudy weather. I immediately noticed difficulty with rear visibility due to the top being folded for so long. In sunlight the window will flatten out and if well cared for you can probably see better out of it than the smaller glass window. That being said, a glass window is definitely easier to care for. Ever since the 2002 glass top came out my plan was to upgrade when my top wore out. After 13 years and TLC the top and window are still fine and look almost new. Take care of your things and they can last.

- Keep it out of the sun when you can
- I use Mothers Plastic Polish whenever I wash it (inside and out).
- I only use a microfiber towel on the window to reduce scratching.
- I have a Muz Mat installed in the window well. You can use a regular towel in there.
- Don't put the top down in temperatures below 55 degrees.
- When dropping the top look back to make sure the window isn't creasing.
- Some people put a towel in the window when folding to keep it from creasing.

Had a my2000 with plastic rear window. Biggest gripe with the car. It had a crease from the previous owner that never went away and always forced me to have to get out of the car and push the window in when putting the top down below 85 degrees

^^This^^
It is fine as long as you keep it clean with plastic polish (I use the Mothers also), and just keep an eye on it when putting the top down so it doesn't ball up in a fist.
