The plastic fades over time and makes it difficult to see the rear even though you have a larger window than the glass. You also lack a rear defroster.

Everything they said, plus you'll be lowering it and hear a loud "POP". Now your plastic window has a huge crack across it and they're not cheap to replace. Plastic window sucks.

It takes a lot of work to keep a plastic window clear and nice, and while all the above issues can be avoided with effort, the plastic rear window still won't last as long as a glass window. The plastic rear window is a little larger, but it's not enough larger to justify all the work it takes to keep it in like new condition. People have successfully converted older cars to glass RW, but unless you really want an MY00-01 car for some reason it would be easier just to buy a later MY car.

I liked the size of the plastic window and the option you have to unzip the back. If you maintain it well you should not have a problem with it. I polished and waxed my plastic window every few months, and it stayed as clear as new. I have since replaced my top and got the one with a glass window which I like. The window is a little smaller but much cleaner and easyier to take care of.
