I thought someone said cast iron and from past experience, cast iron is not every strong. I used to have a cast iron turbo manifold on my celica and it was crap.

IM sorry if i sound like a newbie but i dont know too much about different kinds of metals. But there has to be a stronger cheaper metal that wont just crack.

It's probably steel, my comment "A good stainless steel is stronger that a cast iron pinion gear in every way." was just to show that there's a range of possible choices even within the term "steel"
