Me too, except it probably does not defuse the light properly when clear.

Yeh, you can take an eye out staring into a 25 watt bulb in a reflector. Seriously, did you go to a lower wattage bulb? Overall, looks good.

Excuse my ignorance but why can't you just get the little clear difuser from a euro dealer? Is that the bit (2 I guess) that cost $900 or is it the entire housing. Those clear lenses must be available without replacing the entire housing. If it's that orange piece that costs $900 bucks, I will go out and disassemble my headlights immediately and start selling clear ones for $10, making a health 900% markup to boot.

i believe it's the entire housing. somebody looked into this and decided that they had to buy the entire assembly. randy is the only person i know who has done it.

and randy, yeah, i'm serious about it. please email me at s2k_mingster@yahoo.com

thanks.

The $900 is the entire housing, with a set of the HID lights as well. I guess that's why it's so expensive...what Randy did by melting the glue to take it apart and to put it back together was really gutsy. Even if mingster does produce the clear lens, it would only be a select few people who would decide to do that to their cars...I would love to, but I certainly wouldn't be able to do it myself. Oh yeah, and if the lens is clear, don't you have to put in an amber bulb? I thought clear lenses with clear turn signals were illegal here, but I'm not positive on that.

Randy, lights look great. Just curious, did you do anything to rear lights?

I think whoever said that the housings comes with the HID lights as well is wrong. I checked with Honda and the US spec light does not come with the lights and is just as expensive. HID lighting is very expensive, just the capsules (bulbs) are about $70-$150 each. That does not include the ballast and igniter witch you also need two of.

I want to do this, but I am afraid that I wouldn't seal the unit air tight and it will fog up somehow.

Thanks for correcting me Aaron. I wasn't sure about the HIDs being with the housing...but damn $900 for the housing is insane!
