Performing oil changes personally

The local firehouse has a small recycling station including a used oil tank and a small dumpster for used oil filters. It's free, less than a half mile from my house, and open 24/7.

CEL??? Only if you're about as careful as the typical quickie lube and break something else in the process.

I got a CEL for an oil change once. There is 1 sensor that gets in they way for removing the oil filter, so I always unplug it and move it to the side for the filter swap. Well I forgot to put it back on once before starting the car and bam CEL.

no cel with oil changes, and the 04 had the service indicator which you need to reset as stated ...regardless of your maint schedule.
