people who put crappy tires on the S

IMO,cheap tires are only needed when idiots do burnouts on youtube, tail slides that wrap you around a tree or pole, and for when your insurance is making a claim on an accident you were in....not really, but cheap tires should only be purchased in EMERGENCY cases ONLY!!!!! College students full under that stream of piss lol jk

This thread is the best reason to stick with OEM sized wheels.
I can't say enough good things about my Hankook RS-2's for those looking for a sticky tire that doesn't break the bank. A little splashier than S02's but they are so sticky it's hard to get them to break loose once warmed up.

i think its funny when i drive around with other S2k's and i can totally out handle them or give other owners rides and they are amazed at how well my car handles, mind you i only have tien springs. when i go look at their tires i then realize why they are having such difficulty.

I'm on stock suspension and D1 SSs. People are AMAZED sometimes.
Low rotational inertia and such helps too--the S will handle better on equal tires than an average car--but the tires really make the biggest difference.

I can't say I went out and bought the most expensive tires when I bought my S recently. But I did quickly realize that all-season tires weren't the right tires for this car. So I bought my first set of summer tires and slapped em on and I've been very please with how they have performed. I got a set of BF Goodrich G Force Sport tires on my oem ap1 wheels. They got great ratings on all the tire sites and so far they have been great! I definitely wouldn't recommend crappy all season tires on this car unless you don't want to fully enjoy it!

I have 2 sets of wheels, Z1 star specs on one set, and a set of kuhmos for daily driving. swap em out when i go for a cruise.... why waste star specs on freeway driving?
before i had my second setup, i went through 2 sets of star specs this summer alone..... ouch.
