AP1 with plastic rear window, frame, and motors = 60 lbs. Not as much as you might think but I'm probably going to remove mine since it's torn up anyway. I think the glass rear window weighs a little more.

Some hardtop owners have no intention of taking the hardtop off or using the soft top. Not everyone buys the S because it's a convertible.

softtops are wack haha there cool sometimes but id rather have a hard top a roll cage one seat exc !!!!!

I have had my hardtop for almost a year and I haven't taken it off since. As for gutting the soft top, sounds like a PITA. If I keep the car for life, then maybe Ill gut it.

You took it out because your softtop was slashed anyways and you used the insurance check to buy a HT rather than fix the softtop.

Lets be honest here. And your weights are pretty far off.

I just bought an 01 S, then found a local factory hardtop, which I bought for the visibility and year-round improvement on the car, as it is my daily driver. I pulled the soft-top assy, mostly because it is dead weight for me.
