Passenger Side Airbag Disable
#1
I did a search on this topic and found nothing. I am wondering if there is anyway to disable the passenger side airbag, I have read about a switch available, but I do not know where to get it.

Search the net for airbag switches... I did previously, there was also an owner over that Ha.net that had one installed... I also think there is info about req. in the owners manual.

I am in the same boat--my car is days away and I've started the airbag switch process. From what I understand, you have to first get permission from the NHTSA first by filling out a form located at http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/airbags/brochure/.../Req_Form.html. They will apparently send a letter. Then you take the letter to your dealer (if he'll do it) or someone like Air Bag Options and they install the switch. Disabling is a more difficult process.
You have to have the VIN to send in the form so mine just went in the mail today. I'm guesing it's an automatic approval since there are only two seats.
The question I have is the availability of a switch from Honda. MSN Carpoint refers to one, but my dealer doesn't know anything about it (not that he knows much anyway). Has anyone seen one?

I've done it also. Fill out the form on the NTSB web site. The web site also has lists of installers. The few I talked to were all mobile units and will do it at your house or at work. Took about 45 minutes to install. My problem was placement of the switch. The installer put it under the dash, but it gets in the way if a tall passenger is there. I'm thinking of modifying the slot behind the cup holder so the switch would fit there. It wouldn't fit without cutting some plastic away.
