Thumbs up Passenger Door and rear panel damage

My car's passenger door and rear panel were scraped while parked. The body shop needs to remove part of the convertible top to paint the two panels that need repaired. I am concerned that removing the top could cause problems in the future.

Should I be concerned about this? Anything I should look out for? Is it easy to remove the top then reinstall it?

Thanks

You have to let them do whatever is necessary to accomplish the repairs. If you limit what they may do, you cannot complain if the work does not come out right. When you get the car back, I would immediately put the top through several up and down cycles to verify its correct operation. Many moons ago, I had a VW 412 wagon (weird rear engine design) with minor body damage in the rear. The shop had to do a lot of disassembly of engine plumbing to pull out the dent. When I got the car back, it began misfiring after just a few miles. Turned out that two of the four spark plug wires had not been securely re-inserted. After that fix, all was o.k.

Which part do they want to remove?

I had my rear quarter replaced and they had to remove the soft top for it. Get a knowledgeable shop and you'll be fine.
