Which part do I sand to prevent top wear?
I am looking at the bar which rubs the top by the ear..but the bar is very tight against the top..how can i get in there to sand it down? I am trying to prevent a hole..
I did order some Tear-aid. Should i sand as well?
Thanks Shopman for the pic..

Im sorry i cant answer your question. But its something alot of people ask about and would like to know and i believe its fairly important. I was just wondering why a mod hasn't complied the threads or asked some one to right up a diy and stickied it.

To any new owner, or any owner at all, I would recommend doing two things to your car as soon as you get it: file down the rough parts on the two sections of the metal frame, and put a protective patch on the roof where the wear spots occur.
This is like getting a vaccination for your roof and should prevent any problems.

I checked this on my '07 and mine does not appear to have a rough edge on it. I wonder how many cars this affects. I had my 2004 for 3 years and never had a problem either.
