Parking brake stuck
Today, when trying to back out of my garage, my 2001 acted as though the emergency brake was still engaged even though I had released it. When I let out the clutch it just sort of dipped slightly, but the car would not budge (I didn't really try very hard). After about the third or fourth attempt, the brake seemed to come loose and then everything was fine. Anyone ever had a similar experience? Anyone no what this could be? Thanks.

Did you drive hard and use the brake a lot before parking your car. Because it happens that sometimes when the disks are very hot the brake pad stay stuck to the disk. That's why it is more efficient and safe to engage a gear instead of pulling the parking brake.
I have never experienced that but a track instructor yeld at me once because i used the parking brake after a few lap of racing and explained me the whole thing.

That happened to me on my Accord. What happens is that the brake gets stuck if left there too long. I called AAA for help. The guy showed up, pulled the brakes a couple times, then shook the car back and forth, then VOILA! the brake is free.. try that. and shake hard.
