Default Painting my wheels

I was thinking about painting my wheels, gloss black tomorrow. Is there anything I need to be aware of before I start? What type of paint shoudl I use? Is there any sanding involved? How easy is it to remove if I wanted to? Just some Q's I wanted to ask before I did something I migt regret!

If you want the paint to stick, you're probably going to have to sand. On my RSX, I used this stuff called Duplicolor. It is a paint brand, and they make a paint specifically for wheels.

use any high heat paint. Use usually can find them at autozone. The paint is fairly ez to remove with paint stripper, but say bye bye to ur wheels' clearcoat

Just look around for a good powdercoater. I paid only $200 to have mine powdercoated. Definately worth it. A rattlecan paint job will never look as nice as you would like it to.

They don't last as long because when you take off the tires you will scratch the finish on the edge. A properly done spray job will not look inferior vs. powdercoat, trust me.

but 9 out 10 times, the local ricer just wing it without cleaning, sanding, dismounting, taping, primering and clearcoating, that's why most of the riceboy special looks like crap.

high temperture paint or wheel paint will do.

take off the wheel, lightly sand it, wash it, wipe it down with acetone, tape off any part you dont want to be painted(tires, cap, valve stem, etc), primer, couple thin coat of paint, and then clearcoat to finish it off.

without clearcoat, the finish will looks dull and will not last as long.

don't use any brake cleaner or strong wheel cleaning agent for painted wheel.
