Default Painting my Car Monte Carlo blue...

One of my friend said he would paint my car for like 200 bux if i provided the paint.. He's going to do it at school since they have a pretty good facility.. I was wondering would it be better to just paint the outside? or paint the engine bay too?

Also the color would be monte carlo blue or the acura TL blue pearl..
Which one do you guys think would look better on the S?

Both colors are great, but I'd go with MC, since it's a real S2000 color.

That'll be cool. There are only a handful of folks who've done this in the states.

Umm I dont know if you know it takes a pretty skilled painter to make the paint job look factory, doesnt matter how much the paint is but it is how he preps and how he paints, unless your paint is so bad, then I guess why not, its not as easy to paint a car like people think. Also if you do the engine bay thats way more work, thats why all these high end paitning facilities charge so much to color change a car. but thats my 2 cents, its just i dont want a fellow s2k owner to regret his decision.

200 for whole color change??? to do the right job it is more than just the skill
u need good equipment and the place is that sealed from outside so the dust wont get on ur car and etc.....

doing a job on the side like that is not a good idea i think..
im getting complete color change from the professional shop
and they are charging 4G.... so it gives u the idea...

anyway good luck

F*ck that, I wouldn't do it. A good paint job should be done by professionals, esp. on an S2000. What happens if something goes wrong? Are you willing to take the chance to leave the car to a friend?

go for the monte carlo blue. By far my favorite color on the S! Like the others have said I hope your friend is up to the task. You said he is gonna do it at school, so I am assuming that he will have the tools for the job. But, just curious what kind of school is this?

DON'T DO IT!

You're not going to own the car forever and when you go to sell it, the fact that it has been repainted will cause a buyer to have serious doubts.

Plus, your "friend" doesn't have the skill to do a professional job.

You're playing with fire here.
