Painted my brake calipers over the weekend! (Pics)

i painted mine silver (they match the wheels now) about a year ago and they still look like they were just painted.
i agree- a great mod...
the only problem is that my rotors are still just as ugly with that rust around the edges! wish i could find the solution to that (i have looked at others, such as drilled and slotted rotors, but have not found any that would dust as little as ours). dont think i want to change one problem for another.

BTW, i also used the G2 system and am very very pleased with the results. It probably took a little more time and patience because you have to use a brush, but the 3 step process insures a quality finish.
I have seen some of the less expensive options available and they look really good as well. Autozone sells a header paint by Duplicolor that will work really well. My only concern for myself was durability because i do track the car as well, so i wanted to make sure the paint would not burn off.

i too did that high gloss crap... looked really amazing the first 2 weeks... really shiny, glossy and almost wet looking, then a bit later, they just began fading... now the more i clean em, the more my paint dulls out and rubs off a bit. re did it w/better and higher temp paint and still same crap... next step, POWDER COATING!

airgate,
I know there are a few threads on the topic but how did you prep the calipers prior to painting.
Also, how many coats of primer? finish?

I used an acid cleaner (similar to a strong rim cleaner) and followed up with a brake cleaner from a spray can. Worked very, very well.
I put 2 coats of primer and 3 coats of gloss black.
