Paint rubbing off mirrors while waxing!

That happened to me also, when I was waxing my 94 Prelude last year (although it wasn't red), I would notice the paint coming off from the mirrors, i guess the paint on the mirrors was defective or not enough applied...

I experienced the same thing when detailing a customer's red 97 Del-Sol Vtec not too long ago. Only on the door mirrors and nowhere else. As an aside, I only use Zaino to polish/wax/protect all my customer cars.

I boiled it down to lack of clear coat on the mirrors. Indeed, if you look at other, older red Hondas, you'll notice dulling and discolouration on the mirrors moreso than any other panel.

Come on Honda, get with the program!

I dont think you should wax the mirrors, granted I have been but before I got my 99 Prelude I looked at a cheaper 97 Prelude SH with mucked up mirror paint and some guy I saw online with a 4th gen Prelude his mirrors faded via waxing.
Course I'm using NXT now so...

I thought Honda and Acura used a single stage paint process for most of their red vehicles, thus no clear coat.
