If EVERTHING you ever needed to know about how to drive the car was in the owner's manual, it would be the size of a set of encyclopedias.

For example the manual does not say stop at red lights.

This is like saying "well the coffee cup didn't say the content was hot".

I did not see anything in the owner's manual that an inexperienced person should not drive near redline.

An owners manual is not about obeying traffic placards, although sometimes they say "obey all traffic signals" yadda yadda yadda... for good measure.

well, I don't think it's written somewhere a shaky handed person shouldn't hold a gun either, but when one does, bad things can happen. same here. It's kind of like, don't bite off more than you can chew. If you don't understand what bad things can happen when you do certain things with a car like this, you probably shouldn't give it go until you are more knowledgeable. by "you" i mean any person in general.

not intending to flame by the way.

i mean I suppose with a good lawyer you could take it to court and maybe win...anything is possible when there is the ability to interpret something yeah?

When it snows in PA, do you have signs that drop down from the sky to tell the driver to slow down? I'm guessing not. Sometimes it takes good ol' common sense.

My thoughts exactly.

In fact, the first thing that came to my mind was, "Americans..."

I expect an owner's manual to tell me how to operate the vehicle, not ask me to do something, and not tell me how.

That's the point, has nothing to do with common sense or weather conditions.
