well, there's nothing we can do if the OP can't give us a meaningful baseline number to work with...

like you said, if he's really in second, the car wouldn't even be moving at all now

You sure you didn't over rev to 2nd? Seems slow for 4th to over rev....


Pull the valve cover and do an inspection!!!!
good luck cracking ap2 retainers! Ur ok! As long as u pushed the clutch in ur ok!

its not an ap1! U'll blow the motor before u crack a retainer! I have NEVER seen a ap2 with cracked retainer! And i believe i never will.

ditto.. i did it once at the track.. car still seems to be running strong and pulled consistent #'s after the little mishap

maybe if you're so concerned just go get a compression test done. If the numbers are almost the same across the board then you're good to go

You're better off with your AP2. The car's not invincible, but the majority of the horror stories are from AP1 owners.
