In the gallery?

CLutch - might be okay

Engine - ****ed up head. Probably need a new valvetrain at best.

How does it drive now?

89mph in 2nd would put the revs at like 12,500 rpm or so I think if he let the clutch out all the way. Doing it twice doesnt help.

If nothing happened instantly then you should be ok. I over revved my car 6 months ago downed it to 2nd trying to go to 4th at almost 95mph. Had Honda recently do a compression test and pull the head for inspection (just to be on the safe side) and everything checked out fine.

2 other San Diego guys down here over revved thier S's and dropped valves like it was hawt Just keep a good ear out and if you hear anything clicking or clanking like crazy or out of the norm then kill the motor right away and inspect it.

Good luck, and friends don't let friends race thier S2000's.

Now this cracked me up BIG time...

to the original poster, you cracked me up as well with the second half of the story, where he tries to put it into 4th and goes into 2nd again
