our dealer is waiting for a new delivery of tiptronic s2000s(yeah right.......
i went to the dealers to check out the civic type R , and i got into a conversation with a salesman that doesnt seem to tell the difference between the normal and the type R civics
anyways , he was telling me how loads and loads of girls come here asking if the s2000 is available with an auto , and they r put off when they know that it come manual only
so he said that this year (maybe end of it) they will recive an order for auto s2000s that will be sold 70% to girls
he says that its a normal auto with a tiptronic shifting feature , and that the engine is detuned to 230 hp only .................................................. ..... (yeah fu*king right!)
i really (99.9999%) doubt that
i dont belive him one bit , but could this in anyway could be true?

What a joke...
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Dealers don't know squat about anything, let alone the very cars they are attempting to sell.
Every once in a while I am joyed to find someone at a dealership that knows what they are talking about.

With a RWD car, you cannot take a FWD transmission and fit it. They would have to design a new transmission for this application. With low volume, it just wouldn't be technically feasible, unless they have other plans to use that same transmission in a new line of RWD cars. Dealers are the last to know anything. They know what Honda is doing when the car carrier arrives with them.

the dealer could be correct, since UNFORTUNATELY the 2004 S2000 may be offered with a "stupid-shift" aka Sport Shift clutchless manual transmission. The S2000 is coming to an end, and going the way of the thunderbird...2005 S2000 will be a 4door sedan with 130hp, slushbox, and a childseat built into the back.

I highly doubt that the S2000 will come in auto trim.
Honda is pretty good at keeping the posers out by offering only manuals in their sporty cars like the si, gsr, type-r, s2000, type-s, and nsx.
Although they did have the sport-shift in the CL, TL and Prelude.
Makes you wonder though.
