Ouch! Would you drill holes in your tunk lid to mount an XM antenna?

Thanks for all the replies.

Seminole, I finally found you pics last night and will consider placing an antenna in there.

Road rash, your placement is certainly better than the "center of the trunk" location Honda suggested. I might consider that too.

ibglowin, I'm not really going to the commander thing for a couple reasons. I don't want to use something that is seperate from the HU, and I don't care fo XM...the reason I go satellite radio is not so much for digital radio as it is to not here annoying DJ's that think they are funny or listent to commercials...so Sirius is the better choice for me.

Too bad Honda didn't do what Nissan dead and creat a HU that will work with either. :/

Ah well...thanks again everyone!

Yeah, there is XM and Sirius.

www.xmradio.com

www.sirius.com

XM Radio has more channels and more subscribers and is $10 a month

Sirius is turly commercial free on ALL of theire music channels and is $13 a month

I prefer Sirius because I prefer their channel lineup and ESPEICALLY because their music stations are commercial free unlike some of the music stations offered by XM.

Plus all the music is from a digital signal, and it is MUCH better sounding than typical radio..it's near CD quality really.

I've installed an XM Roady in my '03.
The antenna is tiny, 1 1/2 in X 1 1/2 in.
It is positioned in middle front of dashboard, just below the glass. Very clean install. Sound is great. Very few dropouts. Maybe 5 seconds per hr.

TWWV,

Would you happen to have any photos? I would love to see them.

Here are some snaps of my XM Commander install. Still looking for a better place for the head unit. I have it held in place by velcro for now.

FYI: XM has many channels that are commercial free just like Sirius. Those that are not commercial free are very limited in commercials. Like 30-45 second slot every 20 minutes or so and they are for products like Onstar, JC Penny, Allstate. No diet loss pills etc.

drilling in the trunk lid would be horrible, i wouldnt even put it on the trunk, IMO it doesnt look good and throws off the look of the car, why not put it inside the car? like flush next to the inside of the windshield
