Opinion on AP2 Engine swap into AP1
So I've had the F22C in my AP1 for about a month and absolutely love it. No oil consumption issues anymore lol. But my question is, what do you guys think with keeping the AP1 specs? I still can redline at 9k and vtec is still at 6k. Do you guys recommend changing it?

The F22C engine is stroked and Honda lowered the red line to protect the engine. Something about piston speeds and other stuff I just assume even the idiot engineers at Honda who designed the engine understand better than me.
VTEC on my OEM 2006 AP2 car was at the standard 6000 rpm and the rev limiter was somewhere in the 8000-range. It's currently set (via a Gernby FlashPro tune) to VTEC at 3600 and fuel cuts out at 8400. The AP2 engine is reputed to withstand an accidental rev to over 10,000 rpm via a buggered downshift but that's not something I'd want to count on nor rev to 9000 on a regular basis.
Unless you have a tuneable ECU you're on your own watching the tach. The Modifry shift beeper (red line alarm) is very helpful. Mine is set to 7500, 7800, 8100, 8400. Beep, beep, beep, shift. Happens very fast in the lower gears with the Gernby tune.

Congrats on the swap! I've ran this set up for years and absolutely love it. I have a thread about in my signature. When I was NA I rev'd to 9k on the street without issue. I then went to a vafc2 and later Kpro. Vtec at 6k is fine, however, having the ability to lower it and make power was awesome. Also the gearing is matched perfectly. I wouldn't waste money on a shift beeper.
