Only Jacks stand in front of car during oil change
I only have 2 car jack stands and I wanna do my oil change tommorow.
Can I just have the front lifted with 2 jack stands while the oil drains? Will it drain better at this angle, or do I need to level it out with 2 more jack stands in the back.
Thanks guys.

The oil drain plug is on the side, but toward the front of the pan. Therefore, tilting the car back will not allow you to drain all of the oil out.
Many here say that it's very easy to change the oil completely on the ground by reaching down through the engine bay. However, I've not attempted this way yet, so I can't speak from experience.

jack the front of the car up, put stands under the front, remove the drain bolt, drain the oil with the front on stands, remove oil filter etc, then jack the front of the car back down so it's sitting on all 4 wheels again to let the remainder drain out.
after that's done, jack the car back up, replace the drain bolt with a new washer, put in the new oil filter, jack back down and then fill with new oil.
i do oil changes with 2 stands - too much effort otherwise.

use the jack that comes with the car.... and forget about jack stands...
you only need the car high enough to put the pan under it and unscrew the plug.

Fwiw I jack the driver's side, place jack stand, get the oil draining, drop the car, then repeat to get the oil pan and replace the drain bolt. One jack, one jack stand, but I get the oil filter from on top - that would effect which side you jack up.

It takes all of an extra minute to put a jack stand under the car as a safety measure.
There are not many worse ways to die than being crushed by your own car...your lungs compressed too much to call for help and drowning in your own blood... I know someone who died that way from using the factory jack only to change his oil...
