One negative about those Honda extended warranties-
I found out they can only be transferred once, or so says Honda. My 2001 had a factory 7/100/0 warranty that has been transferred to me, but I'd hoped to be able to sell the car myself in a few years(to get a newer S2K, of course) with a year or so still left on the warranty. Seems sneaky and unfair since they are insuring the car specifically.
If I had it to do over I'd buy a cherry car and then pop for the warranty myself.

i just wrote to honda and explained my same situation. I paid the $50 to transfer it to me on a '01 S2000. I NEVER keep any car more than about 2 years but thought it would be a good selling point (to be able to transfer that warranty to the next person)..... but it says I am not able to transfer or cancel.
I explained how I have owned 8 honda's and 3 acura's, so they in theory should give me some leeway (spelling).
I will post what happens when they respond.
Hindsite the seller should have just canceled it and we could have split the $. ($995 is what he paid)
