Is it ok to put 18 x 7.5in rims all around?
I went to a local rim shop today and a guy told me that I could put 18x7.5 all around and just put wider tires in the back. Just wanted to know if this is true and will it hurt the cars performance not having staggered wheels. Please inform me if I;m making a big mistake. Thanks

i think you are making a mistake, and reccomend that you spend some time looking and searching thru the tires and wheels section where u will find threads on this subj if u search 4 it. Don't rush out and buy something w/o some careful research!

You can run the same width all the way around, meaning it will fit, but it will ADVERSLY affect handling during spirited driving. More than likely an oversteering problem.
This car was engineered with the wheels to be staggered. Non-staggered setups will upset the balance.

I completely agree with the above posts.
The other proplem with running same-sized rims front and back, is that in most cases, same-sized rims are made for front wheel drive vehicles and will have no where near the proper offsets. Keep looking.

I have the same size wheels front and back. Two oem back wheels front and back. It actually handles better. The back end does not fishtail like it used to. I do have slight oversteer on uneven roads. I also have a front stb and lower x-brace so that may also be a tiny factor. I had the inside center of all 4 wheels machined out to fit front and rear for rotating purposes and I am very happy with my setup , perfect offset!

This is an easy way to buy much cheaper wheels with slightly impropper offsets. Then have the inside of the hub taken down up to 10mm depending on the thickness of the inside hub. It doesn't hurt the strength characteristics of the wheel as long as there is plenty of thickness left after the machining.
Oh yeah, welcome to yesterday.
