for a while i thought i'd forgo the TSB 54 (?) on the clutch. but today while driving i noticed this very distinct (and loud!) ringing noise while decelerating around 4K. it goes away below 3500 and above 4500, but around that 4K range, it rings and rings and rings.
so what's coming apart now?

Richard - That is how the clutch noise has been described. I've noticed this on my car, particularly before the car has warmed up. It was reported that the clutch springs become loose and the ringing noise is them rattling around.

i've got 16,788 miles as of this morning.
and she's 1 year old!
it's just annoying, and the vibration from the clutch is generating at a frequency where things can start to loosen inside the car (hence all the noises).
maybe i should get it done...

Mine starting doing this after a long drive this past Sunday. I did not notice it yesterday or today though. Mine is a 2001 with about 1000 miles on it now. Does the TSB cover 2001's or is it just for the 2000 model?
