Oil filter dilemma
I went to my local Honda dealer today for an oil filter and they gave me a 15400-P0H-305 filter. I thought it looked a bit different, but I paid and walked out the door. As I was on my way out, I noticed that my receipt said I bought 15400-PCX-004, but the tag on the filter said, 15400-P0H-305. The filter also says, "FILTECH" on it and does not say Honda on it anywhere. So, I turned around and went back in there. I questioned the guy as to why the receipt says one thing and the filter said another. He said that he thought it was strange too because he knows the S2000 takes a different filter than all the other Hondas, but he said that's the way they labeled them. I know our cars now take the PCX filter because that is all I have used (have ordered them from the Marketplace). This filter has 6 holes on the bottom vs 8. So, I think tomorrow I will be taking it back. Has anyone ever seen this filter used on an S2000?
PS There was an '05 Sebring there for $30,998.

The POH filter hasn't been produced for quite some time. It's a old filter that has been sitting on a shelf. The POH is the same outside diameter as the PCX, but not as good of filter.
The new PLM filter replaced the POH on all models except the S2000. The PLM filter is smaller diameter.
If they billed you for a PCX, then you need to get a PCX. The dealer costs of the 2 filters is pretty different.
Before the PCX was available, I used several POH filters.
