Is that your actual experience? Or are you just saying what you think! Or heard! Some of my best oil consumption (meaning using a small amount) has been at the track. Go figure. And some of the worst (meaning using a lot) has been crusing down the interstate.

Well yesterday i parked my car in a specific area to see if there was a puddle and sure enough there was a very small puddle of oil. Im going to check later the oil filter or it might be the oil pan screw. Im trying to remember if i put the washer on the screw when it was removed. At least its not my car burning all the oil up, but hopefully its nothing major with wear the oil is leaking.
Anyway, I think forum member- Billman250 posted something about this phenomena last year (try a search...). His post included a nifty, home made mod that helps keep the filter from coming off. IMHO...a must if you plan to track or autocross.

I agree with DLQ about the oil checking when the engine is cold. That is a debatable subject. However, there needs to be some info gathered on oil consumption. It seems to vary greatly regardless of driving habits and region. I have a MY 03 that burns zero oil and I use Castrol Syntec 10w-30. I have 20,000 miles. I'm not necessarily nice with my baby either. There must be some idiosyncracies with the engine that can cause such a wide variation.
Personally I think 1-2 quarts in a week/month is not good nor normal for a new or broken in engine on a modern era car. I have a GTO that burns oil - but that's a different era and much more horsepower and need for a diferent octane fuel. It would be nice to see some research on the different model years and their consumption of oil or non consumption.
cruise with much attitude

Henson, it's just fact that these engines vary. My engine reacted exactly like stingerbtry's, above... There have been so many posts on this subject over the years that it's clear that a quart a month or so is not all that unusual. You just definitely don't want to see it dripping on your floor like the poor poster here -- that's a problem!
Check your oil every time you get gas. Simple rule. Just do it.
All this said, I found it VERY surprising while researching this car that oil consumption was so high, Henson. As you say, most modern cars (especially Hondas) burn practically no oil at all. In fact, most manufacturers are constantly upping their change interval schedule (usually just by adding a bigger reservoir).
Anyway, best wishes.
