I don't know what your manual says, only you do. Personally I am running mobil 1 every 5k miles AFTER running dino oil for the 1st 10k. There is a TON of info in a sticky in the Technical subhead of the UTH forum. read "The Oil Journals", most informative.

Mobil 1 is a good choice, that's what I use. Follow Honda's recommendation on the change intervals and you should be good. I change my oil at 10k km (6k mi) intervals b/c I like base 10 number systems.

mobil 1 10w30 is a good choice, used by lots of people here including myself. I used conventional oil until 10k, now I change it every 5-6k miles, which is unnecessary. If you don't go 7200-7500 on synthetic oil, you're probably wasting some money.

I have a question for the members, the manual says to not do an oil change until the oil life indicator lights up for the 2006. Should I do this or is it okay to change at 3000 miles.

it should be okay but you'd have to find a way to let the computer know that it has been changed. shouldnt be too hard since the dealer would probably have to do it everytime they changed the oil anyways. you should know that the first oil in the car is "break in" oil, however, so you mihgt not want to change it out yet.

3000 miles oil changes are a waste and are completely unecessary. listen to the oil life indicator.
