Oil Change and Winter Storage
Before anyone blasts me, I have read lots of very interesting threads pertaining to winter storage. I talked to my wife and she says no way are we moving somewhere just so I can drive my car through the winter
My question is this: My car has 2000 miles, obviously has not had its engine oil changed; do I change it early and loose the remaining break-in benifits that the original oil contains, or get the 'old' oil out which may contain comtaiments which potentially could cause damage for 4 months while in storage?
Any help is appreciated.

I got the car in September. I realize that you can keep the oil in for a year. I am concerend about not running the car for 4 months and the possible damage by not running the car.
Based on what I have read, I do not plan on running the car at all during the winter.

Greg,
There are also a number of posts on "winter storage" you may want to check out. Do a search. There is a wealth of information on the subject. I've read them all, however, and you will not get a definitive answer on that question. Some people SWEAR by changing it, others say to leave it in until the 3,750 or 7,500 mile mark (depending on driving conditions).
