Mobil 1, K&N and Puralator Pure oil filters are the best ones out there.

Maybe so but if one of those fail you are on your own. If a Honda filter fails you are covered.

Mobil-1 and Honda filters is what I advise.

And yes only after the engine is broken in for the Mobil-1.

One more bit of advice, Have the valves adjusted and the compression checked after break-in. Adjusting the valves will almost always improve the way the engine runs and noting your compression will indicate how your engine broke in and give you a baseline to compare to in the future.

Not the cost. More the convenience. I usually have to drop off my car and pick it up thus have to get a ride to from dealer. I have 4 cars so if I'm doing this every 3 months with each car it's like every 3 weeks dropping off a car. And the dealers are all 20 miles away.

So I was wondering if I changed with synthetic every 6-7 months it would be a good as every 3 months with regular oil.

I VTEC but I don't think this constitutes SEVERE driving. No towing, no dust, about 50% highway.

Mobil 1 every 5000 miles. Makes the oil change thing a no-brainer, odometer rolls to one of the 5000 mile intervals and I know it's time for a change. Use a Mobil 1 MI-104 filter now, tried the MI-105, but it came loose at the track. No such problems, so far with the MI-104.

Blackstone Labs analysis on every oil change supports longer than 5000 mile intervals.

Hmmmm So I can actually wait for 5K miles to change my Mobil 1? Sweet! Now I don't mind paying so much for it. I don't drive all that hard and only Vtec maybe once a day so that'll work for me. Oh, I use Honda Oil filters during the warranty period. Purolater after.
