Yes, I will understand that despite the legible print in my owners manual, i have done the exact oppsite of what I was instucted to do and will look forward to doing more things the manual tells me not to. What is so hard about following instuctions? I know that I am a mod and have to keep my cool, but I passionatly feel that you are doing more harm then good so i will continue to say FOLLOW THE BOOK! Any brand name non-sythetic 10W30 oil.
eg. Castrol, Penzoil.
I stay away from Quaker State as this brand had issues once with respect to premature sludging. I'm not sure these issues have been resolved.

Intendedaccel,

Change your oil, bud. I wouldn't even run Mobil-1 6000 miles in a 9000 rpm engine. If you wait till it looks dirty, (as an indicator), you waited too long. Your engine will thank you.

If only the sludge stayed in the oil pan. Mine sludged up badly under the valve cover. It was truly disgusting. I could only imagine how badly the oil passages were blocked up. I was surprised to hear, in this modern-day technology, that an oil company put out a product that had this sort of problem. I was absolutely shocked when I found proof of it in my own engine. I would be truly disappointed if Quaker State doesn't have this issue fixed by now but after being bitten once, I won't chance it again.

Called Honda Motor Co. All Hondas(S2000's included)are delivered wih non-synthetic Mobil 10-30W oil.Oil should be changed in accordance with manual. 3750 miles or 7500 miles according to use. Use 10-30 W oil if need to add between oil changes. A change to synthetic oil at first oil change may be made if preferred,The idea of a special break in oil when car is delivered seems to be a rumor only. Whom to believe is a mystery.

Silly new owners I guess we were all there once
Follow the manual and use Castrol GTX 10w30 for changes or to add a little when required. Don't change to synthetic until 10,000 miles plus. The engine seals need to seat themselves properly during break in. This topic has been discussed to death and I believe that this method was the final most agreed upon method to keep your car running well. I have 20k miles on mine and won't switch to synthetic until around 30k. The car runs very strong and has had no mechanical problems whatsoever.
