Oh how fun, my oil plug fell out.
It could have been worse I guess. Driving down a side street last night, and I hear a loud metallic "clink" and I feel something hit the bottom of my car hard.
I decide it might be a good idea to pull over and find what I ran over. Lets just say that decision could have saved me $8,000!
I pull the emergency brake and walk out and start looking. Sure enough, I find my $40 Spoon oil plug laying on the ground. I realize what it is and look at my car.......and see a oil slick coming towards me. Phuck!
I hop into my car and drive it about 100 feet into a gas station, turn it off and watch all the oil slowly leak out. My buddy picked me up and brought me home to get my tools. It could have been worse, if the plug fell out on the highway my engine woulda been a goner!
Oh yeah, a dealer did the oil change 400 miles ago.

That really sucks, but I think I would have shut the car off immediately after discovering this rather than driving it another 100 feet.
Hope everything works out.

I agree. Shut it off, put it in neutral, and hand push it out the way if possible - or get some additional help if needed.
You were very WISE to stop and check on the noise -- I'm not sure I'd have done that, thinking it was just a rock.
