[QUOTE=CBeyond,Jul 23 2004, 04:16 PM] Be sure to look carefully at the wheels and tires.

Actually, I was not aware of the rear tire size difference with other tire brands ... but looked up tirerack and they still recommend stock sizes for the rear for other tire brands. I sent them an email to ask them also.

Just got this reply from tirerack.com regarding tire sizes. I wanted to check as
the prev owner had put SP8000s in stock size on the car a month before I
bought it ... so I should be all set. Whew!

Thank you for your email.

You are correct, of all the tires we offer in the 225/50-16, only two will have a 8.5" tread width: The OE Bridgestone & the Dunlop SP8000.

You are also correct to mention that the alternative replacement size is the 245/45-16, for the rear.

When using the standard Original equipment size, Tire Rack will always recommend tire sizes that have been recommended by the manufacturer. There seems to be no reason to do otherwise.

Please let me know how I can be of assistance.

Best regards,

Reggie
