Not sure anyone knows why, just like why the color of the paint on the '02 wheel is slightly different from the '01, it may have some origin, but no one knows because it's not as easy to point out a definite reason as in the third brake light being bigger on the '02.

Something of a mystery I suppose

Worst of all...
we here in new-zealand get a detuned version of the S2000...
lower compression ratio and 10hp less...cause they reckon our fuel cant handle the higher compression ratio...

Something else I thought I noticed, but wasnt sure if I was mistaken is that BBS and Enkei both make the stock wheels. Im not speaking of the JDM wheels either. If so, wonder what the weight diffs are on them, if any.

No its the same wheel, if you continue reading this thread, our resident tweaker Nigel (Biker1) has just applied transfers to the regular wheel, looks good!

You sure? I know the JDM has a higher compression of 11.7:1 and 250ps (metric horses). Aus S's have 11.1:1 and 240bhp. And 1ps isn't quite 1bhp so the difference is marginal. Surely NZ has the same as Aus and the US and Europe.

Unless he cut the rim off I think it's a different wheel.

All the wheels I have seen in the US are made by Enkei. The obvious difference between the US wheels and some other markets is that our spokes and wheel lip are polished and the wheel clearcoated, where the others are painted silver.

Yes, although our 2002 (just released) has the polished spokes. Not sure if the rim is different. This is the first time I've seen it mentioned.

S2000's in Japan have the same kinda of stock rims as the ones in the UK. I've noticed that long ago. However, LHD S2000's in Europe have the same rims as the ones on US cars.
