oem hardtop rear seal replacment.
i was wondering if you could buy the rear seal for the oem hardtop. where it sits on the body, under the rear window. i work at the dealer and they said they will have to contact honda. there is no part number listing. i was like what??????????? how can they not sell the individual parts, seals and interior parts etc.? has anyone ever had to replace any interior parts of the hardtop, whether it be the headliner, panels, seals. if so how did you get the parts. i cannot believe that they have no part listing for anything but the hardtop. or accessories.
just wanted to have an extra rear seal, just in case as it gets worn over time.
any info much appreciated!

i work at the dealership also. people can say whatever they want about the dealerships. before i worked there i also thought the dealerships were stealerships. this is one of the benefits of working at a dealership. you get a very good discount on anything. for example, the oem seal i was talking about lists for over $250, my price if is an immediate family member or my own personal car, i pay cost plus 10% for my parts. the rear hardtop seal listing for over $250 i can get for $180.
if it for friends, no family member, i can still help them get atleast 30% off list price. my hardtop, payed $2500 brand new with all hardware, lists for about $3500-$3600. my oem front lip spoiler got for $350 new, list is $500 new.
i think it's the people that do not know anyone that works at a dealership. that call them stealerships. just because they have to pay full price. hey the dealers cannot give every person that walks through the door a huge discount just to make them happy, this is how they make their money. this is pretty much the same for any buisiness. also yes not all dealers are the same, especially since most of them are individually privately owned.
if you knew someone at the dealership and got a good discount on parts. even though expensive still, i highly doubt you would still be calling a stealership.
just my 2cents
