OEM Hardtop alignment & seal adjustment help needed
Good day or evening s2k friends!
I recently got a oem hardtop and had it repainted by a body shop. Having it home for awhile I just noted something that I need to take care of. The passenger seal seems fine no wind noise, however the drivers side has some near bottom back and I think I know why. However I can't seem to figure out or find proper information on how to adjust this seal?
Here you see the passenger side, as well note when door is shut the window is covered by two seal portions. Note also the bottom fits in the contoured area.
Now the drivers side looks much different....

Here is drivers side...
You can see bottom rubber is not sitting in its contoured area. As well when window is closed it only contacts one fold of the seal. How heck can I get drivers seal forward "properly"? I appreciate any help anyone can offer!!

Also noticed this. The drivers side trim is pyshically 5mm difference back from passenger side! The front but stops to the latches however are BOTH flush?
So it would seem "somehow I need to adjust this black holding trim piece? Or is there more to it? The front seal distance is uniform everything else looks wise looks like hardtop is sitting properly.
Drivers side...you can see the spacing difference between two sides.
Passenger side...

Did the body shop install the hardtop? It looks to me that the driver side glass needs adjustment, but instead of doing this they pulled the HT seal forward (perhaps why it looks unseated at the bottom). Try to seat the seal properly and do the glass adjustment (section 20-11 of service manual).

Push the seal all the way back. It is not installed properly. You'll have to squeeze it. It pops into a small ridge in the seal holder.
Do you have the same leak with the soft top up? I doubt it but, if yes? Adjust window. If not, I'd look for options other than window adjustment. You'll fix one problem and create another.
How is the fit at the top of the windshield? It's also possible to move the entire top up/down or forward/back by adjusting the rear attachment points. That is in the service manual as well and is the Honda recommended way from what I understand.
Top fits well and even with windshield frame? Adjust the position of the seal. You'll have to remove it to expose the metal holder, which is where the adjustment is made. There is a small screw at the front, a screw and a plastic pin at the bottom. Sealant as well as do it slowly to not damage the seal when you pull it off.
The metal piece that holds the seal can be adjusted by loosening the screws. Reinstall. Test. Repeat.
Good luck.
