Default NSX into a S2k

Okay this is interesting, I'm wondering if anybody has explored the possiblity of putting a NSX engine (90-99) under the hood of a S2k. Or has anybody done it?

If I recall the going price for an NSX engine is about $20,000. What do you want the power for? FI is way cheaper. You'd only gain 50 HP, pre mods. Really expensive and not clear what you'd gain.

isnt the NSX engine essentially a FWD layout, why would you go through all the hassle of fabing up parts when you could just tune f20.

the f20c is what makes the s2000, it's pretty ridiculous to swap this motor out IMO.

Yes, but how much torque in the low range?

Not saying this is a good idea, and it certainly doesn't make economic sense, but I don't think it's just about the HP.

This has come up several times before.

1st problem, The NSX engine is too wide, It will not fit
2nd problem, It rotates the wrong direction for any available RWD transmission. So you get to spend $ on backwards ground camshafts, and reverse wound starter. This would cost more than the engine.
3. you would also have a few more problems, like the throttle body at the wrong end of the intake manifold, to small of a radiator, building motor mounts, finding a transmission that would fit inside the S's trans tunnel, and take the abuse of the C35B. On top of the S's weak diff with a 4cylinder, This is not a good idea.

Yeah...I agree part of the fun of this car is the engine replacing it for another one(even another VTEC) would take some of the fun out of it. Even if you could width is going to be a huge problem. Probably every V8 would be to wide and alot of other engines too.

Now if you have a good 20-30000 just burning a hole in your pocket and want to try to get some mad performance, here's a crazier idea. I believe the engine compartment is long enough to fit a second f20/f22 in it, with maybe some adjustments to the radiator and the hood.

Now to mate the two engines and mount the second one is probably going to be a technical nightmare but since an f20c costs around 5500, you'll have 15-25000 to spend to figure out the details. Not even remotely claiming this would be practical or cheap but if you could make it work the stats would be sick, i.e. 8 cylinder, 480HP, 9K redline
