That's fine, I just wanted to know. Let me know when my number comes up. It will probably be a while.

The first windscreens are rolling off of the assembly line...FINALLY They should ship out tomorrow (in case anyone was wondering, Rick was the first to get me his mechanisms). I must say, they look really good...they're a bigger pain to make in bulk than I had imagined, but they look good.

On both screens I modified for Rick I noticed that one blue LED out of the four didn't light up as bright at the lower settings, and replacing it once it was in the string was a job onto itself. I guess this means I will have to check ALL LEDs before committing them to a string instead of waiting until it's completely put together More time away from other projects, but I can't sacrifice any more time to replacing them once committed to a string...it's a royal PITA!

Only 5 out of the original 10 on the list contacted me (well, 4 if you remove Rick from the mix since he replaced someone early on), and I have yet to receive the promised mechanisms from 2 of those 4. That's good and bad. Bad because it means some of my customers are backing out on me and I hate to lose clients for ANY reason. But it's good because those who are further down on the list are that much closer to having their's modified.

So, I will probably send out a new batch of PMs to the next 10 on the list sometime tomorrow.

Oops, yeah, I should have probably mentioned it...check the original post for updates on shipments, etc. I received your's and Austin's today, so I'll be starting on them after I get back from the License branch tomorrow (I can't run on my MA license forever )

I forgot you had an old screen, Dave, which means I'll have to whip out the ol' Dremel tool, but that shouldn't delay your order TOO much

Time for a cry of HELP!
Now that Mac is off and running is there anybody out there who knows of a decent place that can etch the OEM (small) windscreens?

Hey folks - I just got this link from a friend, and it seems like a very good answer to the etching problem.... only snag is it costs about $10K... but wow, what a cool toy!

hey mac,
i know this probably has been discussed before but... if i order the screen from rick, would he have the screen etched? i'm still aways down yet but if i have to etch the screen then i'll have to order now so that i can have in time for you. if rick can etch it then i'll just order it and have rick send it to you directly.

Druthers, For cripes sake, I could make that at 1/10th the cost! Something to think about down the road...

my2k, Rick can etch, and he should have plenty on hand for immediate shipment. I believe he'll be sending me a bunch to keep on hand locally since people are definitely interested.
