Not sure How Much To Sell For..HELP
#11
If it helps you for a scale of reference...I've personally seen the following:
AP1 with 61k miles, ROUGH body, mismatched aftermarket wheels, and engine out of the car land taken apart pretty far (rusted cylinder walls as well). Turbo'd, but again, turbo condition looked rough. Needed a top, interior looked okay.
He got $5000 for it.

Thanks for the info man.

In my opinion, you should be able to get 5800 for it. That's more than fair from what I've seen on the market in my area (SoCal). People sell wrecked unfixed ones for close to that price. And that has the glass soft top and an extra transmission AND a new clutch.
If anything you could sell the car for one price and separately sell the transmission and clutch to get closer to your investment.
Gluck

Thanks man I hope I can, I just do not want to post up a car that is not worth a dead hooker on a Friday night. I do not want to screw anyone over either.

So what I did to kinda get a ballpark figure, I used KBB. I know their not the best to go by but somewhere to start at least. So with the basic info of standard options, year, and mileage...it had a private sale value in fair condition of about $6300. Things that can factor in on the price going even lower is the actual condition of the car, past wrecks it has been, the bad trans(even if you have one to replace it, the new owner will still need to pay someone to do that), etc...
Just knowing these few things you mentioned, I probably would not pay no more than $5K at most. Even at that cost is kinda stretching it just based on the quick research I have done. Not trying to lowball but if you want a quick sale you might need to do better than $5800. The killer is the mileage and the trans. I know its a Honda but it's a different story if it was 150K miles well maintained or if was 150k miles of abuse. Sounds more like latter as you have heard of other owners being way past 150k on OEM parts and still running strong.
Again, I'm not trying to lowball or upset you, just looking at what I see here. Anyways, good luck with the sale. That truly sounds like a headache in your hands.

No man I am taking as much info as I can off of this. This is why I asked the question, I would be more than willing to work with someone one the price. I am not worried about low ballers and things of that nature. I honestly agree with what everyone says on this subject again I am trying to get an idea if this car would sell to someone that is looking to put someone money back into it to bring it back to life bc as of right now I am paying for something I can not drive. The only thing that pisses me off is that I was lied to about the car but it was my fault for jumping feet first into this without doing any research on the car itself or the dick himself that sold me the car.
I do not get upset at all so please anyone feel free to lay it out on the line please.

Thanks for understanding. The only possible reason I can see someone willing to pay for the $5800 is possibly another enthusiast on a tight budget. You often dont see S2Ks for that price so there could possibly be someone willing to take it off your hands and do all the necessary work themselves, which in the long run will save them some money. But again, for a quick sale, you definitely need to go lower. You might even have a better chance parting the car out but thats alot of trouble as well. Anyways, good luck with it all. It sucks it has come down to this for you.
