my soft top makes quite a bit of noise on highway driving. Is it normal? I understand soft tops are more noisey but it's pretty loud.

I get a light, continuous rattling noise from my rear window ('02 glass). It stops if I push out on the window. Is that what you hear?

if you can be more specific of the noise you are talking about we can comment better. soft tops are all noisier than hard tops cause the noise can come through material easier than metal... do you mean that your top makes noise where it attaches to the windshield? or in the middle, or in the back?

it is coming from where it attaches at the windshield. I have an 01 so it isn't a glass window.

I had a rattle in my '01 that took the dealer several visits and test drives with 2 mechanics to find. If it isn't the latches, have them check the dome light. Something in there came loose on mine and they had to secure it.

this works for me: when you put the top up, latch it down and then rock back on the switch once to tighten the whole thng up and put some tension in it. I had the same problem, and it does wonders for interior sound levels to do this simple thing. just don't hold it back, i'm sure it's quite bad for the motor to be straining continuously to pull down a latched top...you only need a small amount of tension to eliminate most of the noise. Hope this helps, if it doesn't you might check the alignment of the actual rubber stripping to see if it's not lining up properly.

I replaced my strikers, which is the piece of metal that the latches attach to and have gotten rid of most of the wind noise I was getting as well as the latch rattle that was occuring from the strikers being worn down. They are really cheap and easy to replace.
