For what its worth, I wrecked my S (my fault- dumb ass move on my part) and had some frame damage. About the same $ amount as you. I have not noticed anything different as far a driving goes- no allignment issues, etc. There are a few cosmetic flaws that you really have to look for to see- typical body work stuff.
One piece of advice: The removal of the top may be necessary to complete the repairs and paint. From what I was told, the removal of some of the interior parts to get the soft top out/removed can be tricky and a lot of times some of the parts are damaged. So just make sure you check it out thouroughly when you get her back. Mine was gone for a solid month.
Depending what state you are in, you probably have an uninsured motorist claim. That should not add any surcharges or at-fault accidents to you Auto Insurance. I am in the insurance biz if you have questions.
